One of my all-time favorite films, Vittorio de Sica's 'The Garden of the Finzi-Continis' (1970), based on Giorgio Bassani's novel.
Also, one of my favorite film quotes is contained therein. Forbidden from the public library due to anti-Semitic laws, Giorgio goes to peruse the books at the private library of the Finzi-Continis estate, and is told: "I think you'll find we have everything the library has...though we're more selective."
